Crazy Things People Do

Yesterday was quite a day to observe crazy behavior.  It wouldn’t be so bad if it did not involve those running for the commander-in-chief position.

1. John “let me figure out how to blow this” Kerry endorsed Barack Obama.  My guess is that this was preprogrammed and had assumed an Obama win in New Hampshire.  The Obama people figured that the Kerry endorsement would simply appear as a ground swell and drown what was left of the Clinton run.  Unfortunately Kerry reminded all of us why we either did not vote for him, or did so holding our noses. I wonder what Obama was thinking and what cabinet position Kerry is after?

2. Fred Thomspon awoke from his slumber during last night’s Republican debate and attacked Mike Huckabee for not supporting the President.  What was Fred thinking?  Doesn’t he read the polls and see that the President’s approval rating is 32%?  What is it about Bush’s record that Fred likes so much?  Is it Guantanamo or Abu Ghraib?  Is it Katrina or global warming denial?  Is it invading Iraq or the one Trillion dollars in cost and 4000 American lives for nothing?  Maybe Fred will make this clearer in the future.

3. Fox snooze in last night’s Republican debate ask Mike Huckabee about religion.  Clearly Fox News was either pandering or had forgotten the first amendment that prescribes there will be no religious test for office.  Mike, rather than passing, took the soft ball opportunity to pander to his base.

4. President Bush was asked his reaction to the theme of “change” that most of the candidates are using.  His reply was “I understand that” and then he amplified his comment with, “well if I was running, that is what I would say too”.  Denial is not a bad thing if you are George W Bush and you are in the last year of a failed Presidency.

Dear “Perfected Democrat”, thanks for your comment although it is hard to understand what you mean. The Bush Administration has defiled the Republican Party and in the process disgraced America around the world.
